What Are The 7 Sayings of Jesus On The Cross

  1. Luke 23:34: Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.
  2. Luke 23:43: Verily, I say unto you today, thou shalt be with me in paradise.
  3. John 19:26–27: Woman, behold thy son. (Says to disciple) Behold thy mother.
  4. Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34: My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?
  5. John 19:28: I thirst.
  6. John 19:30: It is finished.
  7. Luke 23:46: Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit.

Commentary

  1. Nailed to the cross, as the Roman Soldier’s divided up His clothes, Jesus speaks.
  2. Jesus forgives the thief on the cross beside Him.
  3. Speaking to His mother, when He saw the disciple whom He loved standing near His mother.
  4. While on the cross Jesus cried out my God why have you forsaken me.
  5. From the cross Jesus asking for water.
  6. Adam’s sin is finally and forever dealt with
  7. Having said this, Jesus breath His last breath.
